IPTV Smarters Pro on Smart TV — Samsung, LG and Android TV

Which Smart TV operating system do you have?

Getting IPTV Smarters Pro on Smart TV starts with one step: identifying the operating system your set runs. Unlike phones, Smart TVs from different brands run completely different operating systems — and each one installs apps in a different way. IPTV Smarters Pro is a native Android app, which means it installs easiest on Android TV and Google TV sets, while Samsung and LG require either a compatible alternative from their stores or an external streaming device.

Here is a quick brand-to-OS reference. Find your brand and jump to the right section:

Samsung Tizen OS

All Samsung Smart TVs from 2015 onwards run Tizen, which does not run Android APKs. App installs come from Samsung Smart Hub. IPTV Smarters Pro itself is not in the store, but a compatible player (Smarters Player Lite) is — or plug in a Firestick.

LG webOS

All LG Smart TVs from 2014 onwards run webOS. Apps come from the LG Content Store. The app appears as "IPTV Smarters Player" (not Pro) and is available in most regions. Login works via Xtream Codes API.

Sony Bravia Android TV / Google TV

Sony Bravia TVs run Android TV (2015+) or Google TV (2021+). Both have full Google Play Store access, which means IPTV Smarters Pro installs directly just like on a phone — the easiest of all brands.

Philips Android TV / Saphi OS

Most Philips TVs from 2016+ run Android TV and support the full Google Play Store. Older or entry-level Philips TVs use Saphi OS (similar to webOS) with limited app support. Check your model in Settings.

Hisense VIDAA OS / Android TV

Hisense sells two lines: VIDAA OS (most budget models) and Android TV (ULED, U-series). VIDAA OS is not Android and has no Google Play Store, so use a compatible player from the VIDAA App Store or a Firestick. Android TV Hisense sets install IPTV Smarters Pro from Google Play directly.

TCL Android TV / Roku TV / Google TV

TCL sells three OS variants in Canada. Android TV and Google TV models support IPTV Smarters Pro from Google Play. TCL Roku TV does not support sideloading — use an external Firestick on those models.

Cannot find your TV's OS? Go to Settings > Support > About TV (Samsung), Settings > General > About This TV (LG), or Settings > Device Preferences > About (Android TV). The OS version will be listed there. If your TV was made before 2013, it is almost certainly not a Smart TV and you will need a Firestick — see the last section of this guide.

Samsung Smart TV (Tizen OS) — Full install guide

Samsung Tizen Models: 2015 — 2026 series (J, K, M, N, R, Q, S, QN, Frame, Neo QLED)

Samsung's Tizen OS is a proprietary Linux-based platform — it is not Android and cannot run Android APK files at all (there is no USB APK sideloading on Tizen, despite what some guides claim). IPTV Smarters Pro (the Android app) is therefore not listed in the Samsung App Store. However, there are two reliable methods to get IPTV Smarters running on your Samsung TV in 2026: installing the compatible Smarters Player Lite from Smart Hub, or plugging in an Amazon Firestick or Android TV box to run the full IPTV Smarters Pro.

Method 1: Install Smarters Player Lite from Samsung Smart Hub (Recommended)

Easiest

Smart Hub App Store

Available on all Samsung TVs 2017+. No extra hardware needed. Works with Xtream Codes API and M3U. This is the fastest path to streaming.

Full app

Firestick / Android TV box

For the complete IPTV Smarters Pro Android app, plug an Amazon Firestick 4K or an Android TV box into an HDMI port. Same interface as on Android phones — and it works on any Samsung TV, old or new.

Step-by-step: Smarters Player Lite via Samsung Smart Hub

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote (the house icon, or the button labelled "Smart Hub" on older models).
  2. Navigate right to the Apps section and press OK/Enter.
  3. Select the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the top right corner of the Apps panel.
  4. Using the on-screen keyboard, type Smarters and press the search button.
  5. Select Smarters Player Lite from the results and press Install.
  6. Once installed, open the app. It will launch directly into the login screen.
  7. Choose Add New User, then select Login with Xtream Codes API.
  8. Enter a name for your profile (e.g., "Samsung Living Room"), then fill in:
    • Server URL — exactly as provided in your welcome email (e.g., http://server.iptvsmarters.ca:8080)
    • Username — your account username
    • Password — your account password
  9. Press Add User. The app will fetch your channel list, EPG guide and VOD library automatically.
  10. Select Live TV to start browsing channels.
If you cannot find "Smarters Player Lite" in your region's Samsung store, try searching "IBO Player" or "Smart IPTV" as alternatives that accept the same Xtream Codes credentials.

Method 2: Run the full IPTV Smarters Pro via a Firestick or Android TV box

Tizen cannot install the IPTV Smarters Pro APK — there is no USB APK sideloading on Samsung TVs. If you want the exact same full app you would get on an Android phone (with every feature and the fastest updates), the reliable method is to plug a small streaming device into your Samsung's HDMI port. An Amazon Firestick 4K (around C$60) or any Android TV / Google TV box runs the real IPTV Smarters Pro and turns your Samsung into the display.

Step-by-step: IPTV Smarters Pro via a Firestick on your Samsung TV

  1. Plug the Amazon Firestick 4K (or Android TV box) into a spare HDMI port on your Samsung TV and connect its power cable.
  2. On your Samsung remote, press Source and select the HDMI input the device is plugged into.
  3. Complete the Firestick's first-time setup (connect to WiFi and sign in to your Amazon account).
  4. From the Fire TV home screen, open Find > Search and type IPTV Smarters Pro (or the "Downloader" app if it is not shown in the Amazon Appstore in your region).
  5. Select IPTV Smarters Pro and press Download / Get to install it.
  6. Open the app, choose Add New User, then Login with Xtream Codes API.
  7. Enter your profile name, server URL, username and password from your iptvsmarters.ca welcome email, then press Add User.
  8. Your channels, EPG and VOD load automatically. Select Live TV to start watching — everything plays on your Samsung screen.
Why not sideload? Unlike Android TV boxes, Samsung Tizen simply does not accept Android APK files, so USB "install from file" is not possible. Method 1 (Smarters Player Lite from Smart Hub) or a Firestick are the two working routes. See the Firestick fallback section below for a full walkthrough.

Samsung remote navigation for IPTV Smarters Pro on Smart TV

Once IPTV Smarters is running on your Samsung TV, the Smart Remote maps as follows:

  • Directional pad (D-pad) — navigate the channel grid and menus
  • Centre button (OK/Enter) — select channel or confirm action
  • Back/Return — go back one menu level
  • Play/Pause button — pause live TV (if timeshift is enabled by your provider)
  • Number keys — type channel numbers directly
  • Home button — exit to Samsung Smart Hub (does not close the app; press Back first)

LG Smart TV (webOS) — Full install guide

LG webOS Models: 2014 — 2026 (webOS 1.x through webOS 24)

LG webOS is one of the most IPTV-friendly Smart TV operating systems because LG's Content Store carries a version of IPTV Smarters called IPTV Smarters Player. The app has the same core functionality as Smarters Pro — Xtream Codes login, full EPG, VOD library, and multi-audio support — and is maintained to work within webOS's playback engine.

Step-by-step: Install IPTV Smarters Player on LG webOS

  1. Press the Home button on your LG Magic Remote (the button with a house icon).
  2. Navigate to the LG Content Store icon (the shopping bag or apps grid icon on the launcher bar at the bottom).
  3. Press the Search icon in the top right of the Content Store.
  4. Type IPTV Smarters using the virtual keyboard and press Enter/Search.
  5. Select IPTV Smarters Player from the results and press Install.
  6. Wait for the installation to complete (usually 30 to 60 seconds).
  7. Launch the app. On the first screen, press Add User.
  8. Accept the Terms of Use when prompted.
  9. Select Xtream Codes API as your login method.
  10. Enter your profile name, then fill in:
    • Host/Server URL — from your welcome email, including the port (e.g., http://server.iptvsmarters.ca:8080)
    • Username — your username exactly as provided
    • Password — your password (case-sensitive)
  11. Press Add User. The app loads your channels and EPG automatically.
  12. Navigate to Live TV to start watching.
Tip: If you only have an M3U URL from your provider (not separate Xtream Codes credentials), choose "Add Playlist or Channel" instead of "Login with Xtream Codes API". However, Xtream Codes is always faster and includes your EPG guide automatically.

LG Magic Remote tips for IPTV navigation

The LG Magic Remote's pointer (laser cursor) works inside IPTV Smarters Player on webOS, making navigation very fast. Key shortcuts:

  • Scroll wheel (roller) — scroll through channel list up/down
  • OK button — select highlighted channel or confirm
  • Back button — return to previous menu
  • Red button (1) — on some app versions, opens the EPG/TV guide
  • Number keys — enter channel number directly
  • Voice button — cannot be used inside IPTV Smarters (LG ThinQ AI does not integrate with third-party IPTV apps)

Alternative for LG: Smart IPTV (SIPTV)

If IPTV Smarters Player is not available in your region's LG Content Store (this can happen in some Canadian provinces with older firmware), Smart IPTV (SIPTV) is an excellent alternative. Search the LG Content Store for "Smart IPTV". The setup method differs: instead of entering credentials in the app, you visit the SIPTV website on your computer or phone, enter your TV's MAC address (shown on the SIPTV app screen), and paste your M3U URL or Xtream URL. The app then loads your channels after a restart. Note that SIPTV charges a one-time EUR 5.49 lifetime fee after a 7-day trial.

Android TV & Google TV (Sony Bravia, Philips, some Hisense) — Easiest install

Android TV / Google TV Sony Bravia (2015+), Philips (2016+), Hisense U-series, some TCL

Smart TVs running Android TV or Google TV are the easiest platform to set up because they have full access to the Google Play Store — the exact same store as your Android phone. IPTV Smarters Pro is listed on Google Play under its full name and installs in exactly the same way as on any Android device. If your TV runs Android TV or Google TV, you can skip all the workarounds and follow these straightforward steps.

Step-by-step: Install IPTV Smarters Pro on Android TV / Google TV

  1. Press the Home button on your remote to go to the home screen.
  2. Open the Google Play Store icon (colourful triangle logo).
  3. Select the Search bar at the top and type IPTV Smarters Pro.
  4. Select the correct result — published by "IPTV Smarters" — and press Install.
  5. The app downloads and installs in about 1 to 2 minutes depending on your internet speed.
  6. Once installed, open IPTV Smarters Pro from your home screen or app library.
  7. Tap Add New User on the welcome screen.
  8. Select Login with Xtream Codes API.
  9. Enter your profile name, server URL, username and password from your iptvsmarters.ca welcome email.
  10. Press Add User. Your channels, EPG and VOD library load automatically — this typically takes 30 to 90 seconds on first launch.
  11. Press Live TV to start watching. Enjoy!
Sony Bravia users: Some older Bravia models (2015–2017) running Android TV 5 or 6 may show IPTV Smarters Pro as "incompatible" in the Play Store. Because Bravia is Android, you can install the IPTV Smarters Pro APK directly (using the Downloader app or a USB stick — see the APK guide), or use the player "TiviMate", which is compatible with older Android TV versions.

Philips Android TV — specific notes

Philips TVs released from 2016 to 2020 run Android TV and follow the steps above exactly. However, Philips also sells a range of TVs with Saphi OS (a webOS-based system used on entry-level Philips sets). Saphi is not Android, so it cannot run the IPTV Smarters Pro APK. If your Philips TV shows a "Philips TV Collection" instead of Google Play, it is running Saphi OS — search that store for a compatible player such as "IPTV Smarters" or "Smart IPTV", and if none is available, plug in an Amazon Firestick or Android TV box (see the fallback section below).

Using a USB keyboard for credential entry on Android TV

Entering long server URLs and passwords with a TV remote is frustrating. All Android TV and Google TV sets have USB ports. Plug in any standard USB keyboard, and you can type your credentials quickly. Alternatively, the Google TV Remote app on your phone (Android or iOS) allows you to use your phone's keyboard to type into your TV — much faster than pecking letter by letter with the remote.

Hisense & TCL VIDAA OS — how to install IPTV Smarters

VIDAA OS Hisense A-series, E-series, R-series, some TCL — sold widely in Canada at Costco, Best Buy, Walmart

VIDAA OS is the proprietary Smart TV platform used on Hisense's budget and mid-range TVs (the A-series, E-series and R-series lines widely sold at Costco, Walmart and Best Buy across Canada). Unlike Android TV, VIDAA OS does not have access to the Google Play Store — its built-in app store carries only a small number of streaming apps (Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, etc.) and does not list IPTV Smarters Pro.

Important: VIDAA OS is not Android, so it cannot run the IPTV Smarters Pro APK — there is no way to "USB-sideload" an APK onto a VIDAA TV, regardless of what some guides claim. There are two correct ways to watch on a Hisense or TCL VIDAA TV: install a compatible player from the VIDAA App Store, or plug in a Firestick / Android TV box. Here is each method.

Easiest

VIDAA App Store player

Newer VIDAA models list IPTV players such as IBO Player, Smarters Player Lite or Set IPTV. If yours does, install one and log in with your Xtream Codes or M3U details — no extra hardware needed.

Most reliable

Firestick / Android TV box

If no compatible player appears in the VIDAA store, plug an Amazon Firestick 4K or Android TV box into an HDMI port to run the full IPTV Smarters Pro. This works on every VIDAA model.

Step-by-step: install a compatible player from the VIDAA App Store

  1. Press the Home button on your Hisense/TCL remote to open the VIDAA launcher.
  2. Open the App Store (also labelled "Content Store" on some models) and select the Search icon.
  3. Search for IBO Player, Smarters Player Lite or Set IPTV and install whichever appears for your model.
  4. Open the app. For IBO Player / Set IPTV, note the MAC address and device key it shows, then add your playlist on the app's website; for Smarters Player Lite, choose Login with Xtream Codes API directly on the TV.
  5. Enter your Server URL, Username and Password (Xtream Codes) or your M3U URL from your iptvsmarters.ca welcome email.
  6. The app loads your channels, EPG and VOD. Select Live TV to start watching.
No compatible player on your model? Older VIDAA versions (U2.0 / U3.0 on 2019–2020 sets) often have a very limited store. In that case, do not look for an APK — VIDAA cannot install one. Simply connect an Amazon Firestick 4K or Android TV box via HDMI and run the full IPTV Smarters Pro there (see the Firestick fallback section below).

TCL Roku TV — special case (sideloading is NOT supported)

If your TCL TV runs Roku TV (you see the Roku home screen with purple background), be aware that Roku does not support APK sideloading at all — it is a completely different, closed operating system. You cannot install IPTV Smarters Pro on a Roku TV under any circumstances. The solution is simple: plug an Amazon Firestick 4K or Chromecast with Google TV into the HDMI port on your TCL Roku TV. Your TV becomes the display and the Firestick becomes the streaming brain. See our complete IPTV Smarters Pro Firestick guide for step-by-step instructions.

Entering your credentials: Xtream Codes API vs M3U URL explained

When you first open IPTV Smarters Pro or any compatible IPTV player on your Smart TV, you will be asked how to connect to your provider. There are two main methods. Understanding which to choose will save you frustration and give you a better viewing experience.

Feature Xtream Codes API (Recommended) M3U URL Playlist
What you enter Server URL + Username + Password (3 separate fields) One long URL (your M3U link)
EPG / TV Guide Yes — loads automatically Partial — may need separate EPG URL
VOD / Movies Yes — full library Depends on M3U format
Series / Catch-up Yes Usually not available
Channel switching speed Fast (direct stream links) Slower (parses full playlist each time)
Credentials from iptvsmarters.ca Server URL, Username, Password (in welcome email) M3U URL (contact support to request)
Pro tip: Your iptvsmarters.ca welcome email contains your Server URL, Username and Password — use these for Xtream Codes API login. If you accidentally received an M3U link, you can extract the Xtream Codes credentials from it: the URL structure is http://[server]:[port]/get.php?username=[USERNAME]&password=[PASSWORD]&type=m3u. The server URL is the part before /get.php, and the username and password are the GET parameters in the URL.

How to add an EPG / TV Guide manually (M3U users)

If you are using M3U and your TV guide is not showing, open IPTV Smarters on your TV, go to Settings > EPG Settings and paste your EPG URL (provided by iptvsmarters.ca in your welcome email). Tap Load EPG. The guide will refresh daily. With Xtream Codes API, this step is unnecessary — EPG loads automatically.

Best picture settings for 4K IPTV on your Smart TV (per brand)

Getting the best picture quality from IPTV on your Smart TV requires tweaking a few settings. Most TVs ship with aggressive processing modes turned on that are designed for showroom demos, not for watching live content. Here are the optimal settings for each major brand, specifically for IPTV streaming in 4K and HD.

Samsung — recommended IPTV picture settings

Picture Mode

  • Set to Movie or Filmmaker Mode
  • Avoids artificial over-sharpening
  • Most colour-accurate

Motion Settings

  • Turn Auto Motion Plus OFF
  • Or set to Custom with both Blur and Judder sliders at 0
  • Prevents "soap opera effect" on sports

HDMI / 4K Settings

  • If using external device (Firestick, box): Settings > External Device Manager > HDMI UHD Color: ON
  • Enables 4K HDR10 / HDR10+ passthrough

Sharpness

  • Set to 0 in Movie mode
  • Let the IPTV stream resolution speak for itself
  • Artificial sharpening causes halos

LG — recommended IPTV picture settings

Picture Mode

  • Set to Cinema or Filmmaker Mode
  • OLED models: avoid Vivid (too bright, washes out colours)

TruMotion (Motion)

  • Set TruMotion to OFF
  • Or use User mode with De-Judder and De-Blur both at 0

HDMI UHD Deep Colour

  • Settings > Picture > HDMI UHD Color: ON for the HDMI port with your device
  • Required for HDR10 and Dolby Vision

AI Upscaling

  • Enable AI Picture Pro on compatible OLED models
  • Improves HD channels upscaled to 4K on the TV panel

Sony Bravia — recommended IPTV picture settings

Picture Mode

  • Set to Cinema
  • Avoid Vivid for streaming

MotionFlow

  • Set to Off or Cinematic Motion
  • Standard and Smooth create the soap opera effect

HDR Settings

  • Settings > Picture > Advanced Settings > Video: HDMI Range: Auto
  • Enables proper HDR recognition
General rule: For all brands, set internet connection to Ethernet (wired) rather than WiFi where possible. A wired connection reduces buffering on 4K channels dramatically. If your TV only has WiFi and your router is nearby, use 5 GHz WiFi (not 2.4 GHz) for higher bandwidth.

When your Smart TV cannot run IPTV Smarters Pro — Firestick fallback

Some Smart TVs cannot run IPTV Smarters Pro, no matter what you try. This includes:

  • Pre-2015 Samsung Smart TVs with older Tizen versions (1.x, 2.x) — App Store is too limited
  • Pre-2014 LG Smart TVs — running older proprietary OS before webOS
  • TCL Roku TVs — Roku is a closed platform that does not support sideloading
  • Very old Android TV sets (Android 4.4/5.0) — IPTV Smarters Pro requires Android 5.1+
  • Non-smart TVs from any year — any TV without an internet connection or smart OS
  • Samsung Tizen or Hisense/TCL VIDAA models with no compatible IPTV player in their app store — these systems are not Android and cannot install an APK

The solution for all of these is simple and inexpensive: the Amazon Firestick 4K (approximately C$59.99, frequently on sale for C$29.99 during Amazon deals) or Firestick 4K Max (approximately C$79.99). Both run Fire OS, which is based on Android and fully supports IPTV Smarters Pro.

Why the Firestick is actually better than built-in Smart TV apps

Even if your Smart TV can run IPTV Smarters, there are good reasons to consider using a Firestick instead:

  • More processing power — dedicated Firestick chipset handles 4K streams better than the weak CPUs in most Smart TVs
  • VPN support — you can install a VPN directly on the Firestick, not possible on Samsung Tizen or LG webOS
  • Full IPTV Smarters Pro — the complete Android version, not a watered-down TV port
  • Portable — take it to a hotel room or a different TV in the house
  • Regular updates — Amazon pushes security and performance updates to Firestick regularly

See our dedicated IPTV Smarters Pro Firestick guide for the complete setup walkthrough on Amazon Firestick.

Troubleshooting IPTV Smarters Pro on Smart TV — 10 common problems solved

Before contacting support, try these solutions for the most common IPTV Smarters issues on Smart TVs. Most problems are caused by one of three things: wrong credentials, weak internet connection, or an app cache issue.

App not found in Samsung / LG store

The availability of IPTV Smarters in app stores varies by region and firmware version. Try searching for "Smarters Player Lite", "IBO Player" or "Smart IPTV" as alternatives. For Samsung, ensure your firmware is updated (Settings > Support > Software Update). For LG, check that your Content Store region is set correctly (Settings > General > Location).

Black screen after selecting a channel

This is usually a credential issue (expired subscription or wrong server URL) or a slow connection. First, verify your subscription is active by logging in to your account. Second, run a speed test on the TV (search "internet speed test" in your TV's browser or use a phone on the same network). You need at least 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Third, try switching from WiFi to Ethernet.

"Failed to Authorize" or "Wrong username/password"

Double-check your credentials from the welcome email — these fields are case-sensitive. The most common error is a trailing space accidentally typed after the username or password, or a capital letter where there should be lowercase. Copy-paste from the email if possible. If credentials are correct and the error persists, your subscription may have expired — contact iptvsmarters.ca support.

Channels buffering or freezing

Buffering is almost always an internet issue. Check these in order: (1) Run a speed test — aim for 25+ Mbps for 4K. (2) Switch from WiFi to a wired Ethernet connection — this alone usually fixes buffering. (3) Restart your router (unplug for 30 seconds). (4) Try a different channel — if only some channels buffer, it may be a server-side issue during peak hours. (5) Try connecting through a VPN to bypass ISP throttling.

EPG / TV guide showing "No Data" or wrong times

If using Xtream Codes, go to Settings in the app and tap "Reload EPG". This refreshes the guide data. Ensure your TV's time zone is set correctly (wrong time zone displays programme listings at wrong times). If EPG is completely missing, your Xtream Codes account needs to have EPG enabled by your provider — contact iptvsmarters.ca support.

Slow channel switching (more than 5 seconds per channel)

Slow channel switching on Smart TVs is often caused by the TV's hardware limitations. Switching to Xtream Codes API (instead of M3U) significantly improves channel load speed. Ensure your internet is wired rather than WiFi. If the TV is still slow, consider a Firestick — dedicated streaming hardware switches channels much faster than built-in Smart TV chips.

App crashes or closes unexpectedly

Clear the app's cache: on Android TV go to Settings > Apps > IPTV Smarters Pro > Clear Cache. On Samsung, press Home > Settings > Apps > All Apps > find IPTV Smarters > Clear Cache. On LG webOS, uninstall and reinstall the app (there is no cache clear option). If crashes persist, the TV may have insufficient RAM for the app — use a Firestick instead.

Audio out of sync with video

Audio sync issues are usually caused by the TV's audio processing applying delay to the sound signal. Go to Settings > Sound > Advanced > look for "Audio Delay" or "A/V Sync" and adjust. On Samsung, disable "Dolby Atmos compatibility" if enabled. If using an external soundbar via HDMI ARC or optical, try bypassing it temporarily to confirm the issue is in the audio processing chain.

APK sideload fails on Android TV — "Package not installed"

Sideloading only applies to Android-based devices (Android TV / Google TV boxes, Firestick, older Sony Bravia sets) — Samsung Tizen and Hisense/TCL VIDAA are not Android and cannot install APKs at all, so there is nothing to sideload there. On an Android device, this error usually means the APK is corrupted (re-download it), "Install unknown apps" is not enabled for the app you are installing with, or the APK is incompatible with your Android version. If it persists, install IPTV Smarters Pro from the Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore instead, or use a Firestick.

Picture quality lower than expected (not 4K / HDR)

Not all channels are broadcast in 4K. Check the channel's resolution indicator in the IPTV Smarters channel info overlay (press OK/Info while a channel is playing). 4K channels are usually labelled UHD or 4K in the channel name. Ensure your TV's HDMI Ultra HD settings are enabled if using an external device. Verify your internet speed is 25+ Mbps for 4K streaming.

Frequently asked questions — IPTV Smarters Pro on Smart TV

The most common questions from Canadian customers setting up IPTV Smarters Pro on their Smart TV in 2026:

Can I install IPTV Smarters Pro directly on a Samsung Smart TV?

Samsung TVs run Tizen OS, which does not support Android APKs natively. The easiest route is to search the Samsung Smart Hub App Store for Smarters Player Lite or IBO Player — both are compatible alternatives that work with your Xtream Codes credentials. For the full IPTV Smarters Pro Android experience, plug an Amazon Firestick 4K into your Samsung's HDMI port. See the Samsung section above for the complete step-by-step guide.

Is IPTV Smarters Pro available in the LG Content Store?

Yes. Search the LG Content Store for IPTV Smarters Player (it appears as "Player" rather than "Pro" on webOS). Install it, accept the terms, then log in using Xtream Codes API with the server URL, username and password from your iptvsmarters.ca welcome email. The app loads your channels and TV guide automatically.

How do I install IPTV Smarters Pro on a Sony Bravia TV?

Sony Bravia TVs run Android TV or Google TV, so open the Google Play Store, search for "IPTV Smarters Pro", install it, and log in with Xtream Codes API credentials. This is the simplest Smart TV installation of all brands — you get the full Android version of IPTV Smarters Pro, identical to the phone version. See the Android TV section above for step-by-step instructions.

How do I install IPTV Smarters Pro on a Hisense or TCL TV with VIDAA OS?

VIDAA OS (used on budget Hisense and TCL models sold at Costco and Walmart in Canada) is not Android and has no Google Play Store, so it cannot install the IPTV Smarters Pro APK — you cannot USB-sideload an APK onto a VIDAA TV. Instead, open the VIDAA App Store and install a compatible player such as IBO Player, Smarters Player Lite or Set IPTV, then log in with your Xtream Codes API or M3U details. If your model has no compatible player, plug an Amazon Firestick 4K into an HDMI port and run the full IPTV Smarters Pro there. Full steps are in the VIDAA OS section above.

What login method should I use — Xtream Codes API or M3U URL?

Xtream Codes API is strongly recommended. It loads your full channel list, EPG (TV guide) and VOD library automatically, and switches channels faster. Your iptvsmarters.ca welcome email contains your server URL, username and password — use these for Xtream Codes API login. M3U URLs work but typically do not include EPG data automatically and can be slower to load large channel lists.

My Smart TV cannot run IPTV Smarters Pro — what should I do?

Plug an Amazon Firestick 4K into your TV's HDMI port. It costs approximately C$60 (frequently on sale for C$30 during Amazon events). The Firestick runs Fire OS (based on Android) and supports IPTV Smarters Pro fully. It works on any TV with an HDMI input — including very old TVs — and often delivers better performance than built-in Smart TV apps. See our Firestick setup guide.

Why is IPTV Smarters showing a black screen or not loading channels?

Black screens are usually caused by: (1) wrong credentials — double-check server URL, username and password for typos; (2) expired subscription — contact support; (3) slow internet — run a speed test and ensure at least 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K; (4) switch from WiFi to a wired Ethernet connection; (5) ISP throttling — try a VPN. Most black screen issues are resolved by switching to Ethernet or verifying credentials.

How many devices can I use at the same time with one subscription?

Each iptvsmarters.ca subscription provides a single simultaneous connection — one device streaming at a time. You can install the app on as many devices as you like, but only one can play content at the same time. If you need to watch on your Smart TV and a phone simultaneously, you would need a second, separate subscription (we do not offer multi-connection plans).

What internet speed do I need to stream IPTV on a Smart TV?

Minimum 10 Mbps for HD (1080p) channels, and 25 Mbps or more for 4K UHD channels. A wired Ethernet connection is always more reliable than WiFi for live IPTV streaming. Most Canadian cable internet plans (Rogers, Bell, Videotron, Telus) far exceed these speeds — the bottleneck is usually a weak WiFi signal between the router and the TV, not your ISP plan itself.

Can I use a VPN with IPTV Smarters Pro on my Smart TV?

On Android TV and Google TV (Sony, Philips, Hisense U-series) you can install a VPN app directly from the Play Store — ExpressVPN and NordTV both have Android TV versions. On Samsung Tizen and LG webOS you cannot install a VPN app on the TV itself. Instead, set up the VPN on your router so that all devices connected to your home network — including the TV — are protected automatically.

Is there a free trial before I buy a subscription?

Yes. We offer a 24-hour free trial with full access — 55,000+ channels, 4K quality, no payment required and no credit card needed. Visit iptvsmarters.ca/trial-iptv/ to claim your trial credentials and test the service on your Smart TV before committing to any plan.

How do I get the best 4K picture quality on my Smart TV with IPTV?

For best 4K IPTV picture quality: (1) Use a wired Ethernet connection; (2) Set picture mode to Movie or Cinema (most accurate); (3) Disable motion smoothing (Samsung: Auto Motion Plus OFF; LG: TruMotion OFF) to prevent soap opera effect on sports; (4) Enable HDMI UHD Deep Colour (Samsung) or HDMI UHD Color (LG) if using an external device; (5) Set sharpness to 0 in Movie mode. See the full per-brand picture settings section above.
